St John’s Cubs Under 11’s Winners of the Sheila Scott Cup 2021

Founded in the 1970's, as an Adult football club, St. John's had early ambitions and after just a few years with a successful senior side, it was decided in 1981 that the Football Club should be expanded to incorporate junior teams. Initially just two Junior Football teams were developed, alongside the existing Adult side.

Back in the 1980's the Club was managed by Thomas McEntee, Chairman and Dorothy Hayward, Club Secretary. Father Jo, of St. Johns Church, Tamworth held the role of President and the Club was privileged to carry the church name forward - St. Johns Junior Football Club, fondly known as The Saints, was born, and there was no looking back!

St. Johns Junior Football Club grew significantly over the years, until there was an established team in virtually every age group. By the mid 1990s, St. John's was one of the largest Football Clubs in Tamworth.

As we move into our 40th year we have just signed a new kit sponsorship deal with Borshch Electric who will be celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2022.

Borshch have previously sponsored St John’s Cubs under 11’s for the last 2 years and we are very proud to have Borshch sponsor the whole club which will enable our 20 teams to have new home and away kits for the 21/22 season. The club is amazing for the local community, offering brilliant facilities for children to grow, learn and enjoy the game of football whilst having fun.

St. Johns JFC has a bright future, a fantastic culture, strong values and an ethos that people want to be a part of - and stay a part of. With our experienced coaches young footballers in Tamworth would be hard pushed to find a better, more enriching Club than ours.
